Acuity Counseling & Therapy Services – Offered by a private practice of psychologists and registered social workers who provide therapeutic support towards depression, suicide, anxiety, panic, addiction, psychosis, schizophrenia, gender identity etc.

Services: Counseling, Professionals offer a wide range of therapies depending on clients need.

Eligibility – Open to all

 

 

Mental Health & Addictions Services through IWK

Services: Voluntary assessments, Various treatment services, Day program, Out client clinical services.

Eligibility – Adolescents, ages 13 up to 19 years old, who are harmfully involved with substance, gambling and/ or who have a concurrent disorder (which means a substance use problem and a mental health disorder at the same time).

 

 

Nova Scotia Health Authority Provides services for adults who are experiencing significant mental health problems or mental illness.

Services: Addictions support group, Depression support group, Assessment & Referrals.

Eligibility – Adults 19 years and older who have or appear to have a mental health condition or mental illness. Must receive referral before an assessment meeting, which will then determine the referral of another resource.

 

 

ReachABILITY offers programs that foster pre-employment skills – such as problem solving, goal setting, and decision-making – and employment opportunities for all Nova Scotians facing the sting of stigma.

Services: Self-awareness programs, Employment programs, Recreation programs Mental health services – ie. career navigation with personal counselling, Legal services.

Eligibility – Open to both individuals and employers.

 

Family Services Association offers professional, confidential counselling and psychoeducational services to enable people to function more effectively at home, in the community and in their work environment.

Services: Addictions Services, Community Outreach, Counselling/Therapy, Health Education, HIV/AIDS Services, Information and Referral, Support Groups, Telephone Support, Trans Health Services, Workshops  
*** Services are low-cost or sliding scale.

Eligibility – Open to all. Counselling services for children, individuals, couples and families.

 

 

TEAM Work Cooperative offers programs supporting persons to secure and maintain employment.

Services: Case management, Career counselling, Employment maintenance, Job development (ie. self employment,) Job mentoring, Creative job carving, Job searching, Wage subsidies, Programs for individuals, women and employers specifically.
